We work across both traditional and Design & Build procurement routes, taking full responsibility for construction delivery while collaborating closely with clients and consultants throughout the process. Where appropriate, we contribute during early design and pre-construction stages to help shape practical, buildable and well coordinated outcomes.

Alex Tinker
Founder & Director
Having studied Construction Project and Commercial Management at the University of Westminster, Alex has spent more than a decade delivering projects across the construction industry, from high quality residential schemes through to major developments across London and the South East.
Whilst that experience provided a strong technical and delivery background, it was always the residential projects that stood out.
Residential construction is personal. Homes carry enormous emotional and financial significance for the families investing in them, and the opportunity to work closely with clients, architects and designers to help bring those projects to life was what Alex found most rewarding.
After several years leading residential projects on behalf of other contractors, Alex recognised an opportunity to do things differently.
Clients wanted greater transparency, clearer communication and a more personal level of involvement throughout the construction process. They wanted direct access to the person responsible for delivering their project, confidence in the decisions being made and reassurance that the details would never be overlooked.
MATTR was founded to provide exactly that.
Today, Alex remains closely involved throughout every stage of every project, from the initial site visit and pre construction planning through to delivery on site, completion, handover and aftercare. By intentionally limiting the number of projects undertaken at any one time, MATTR is able to provide the level of attention, communication and accountability that complex residential projects deserve.
Working alongside a trusted delivery team and long-standing specialist subcontractors, Alex focuses on delivering carefully considered homes that combine quality craftsmanship, technical expertise and exceptional client experience.
